Financial Benefit of Going Green

There are several reasons that going green is so popular. You can save the environment, use less natural resources, and protect the earth. Going green can also make a great impact on your wallet, and in these tough economic times we need all the help that we can get.

Saving water will save on your water bill. Make sure that none of the faceuts in your home are leaking. Right along with the water is money going down your drain. Teach your children to turn off the water when they brush their teeth. Ask your husband to turn off the water while he shaves. Another tip is to use your dishwasher. Many people think that by not running their dishwasher and washing dishes by hand it will save them money, but they are wrong. The dishwasher uses less water than the average person does when washing dishes.

To cut down on your electricity bill make sure that everyone is turning off the lights when they leave a room. Make sure that lights are not on when it is bright enough to see without them. Rather than turning on the lights open a window. Turn off the lights when watching a movie. Make sure that all appliances are turned off. Just because an appliance is not turned on and being used does not mean that it is not using electricity. Unplug anything that you can while it is not being used to cut your down on energy use. Use the stove rather than the microwave whenever you can.
