Many women are scared to take the risk and wear a hat because they fear that they will wear the wrong type of hat or that they will be considered silly. However, women have been wearing hats for hundreds of years and it is a style that needs to be brought back.
First of all, if you are going to be entering a Catholic church, whether you are Catholic or not, you need to cover your hair. The rules may not be so strict in America, but in older churches in older countries, the rules definitely apply. In other countries women dress up for church and covering their hair is part of that. Not matter what the tradition is about covering ones hair, it should be done as a sign of respect for the church.
If you are going to an outdoor event hats are very in. Wearing a wide brimmed hat when you are out of doors is not only practical but it will make you stand out. Wearing something like a hat will show that you are risk taker and is bound to get you noticed. Not only is the hat fashion forward but it is oh-so practical as well. If you are in an area where there is no shade but you are forced to sit in the heat anyway, you will be the only person at the event that will not be sporting a red nose and shoulders.
At the beach hats are always a good idea, for much the same reason as any out door event. However, at the beach you can be a little more flamboyant in your hat choice. There is no reason why you can’t sport a hat at the beach, after all hardly anyone brings beach umbrellas to the beach anymore.
